Leila and Jaret Brashaw
I may be WAAAAY late after the fact, but happy to finally share!! I can’t even begin to explain the feelings I got when I had an old friend ask me to photograph his big day.
I moved to Colorado 5 years ago where I started a job with Keystone. When I started this job, I got to meet Jaret Brashaw. I instantly was able to connect with Jaret as he was another guy from the Midwest; unfortunately he was from Michigan. I was able to always bust Jaret’s balls over how bad the Michigan Wolverines were as a football team. Even though he never cared to watch a game.. While reminding him the greatness that Ohio State Football is.
From the first day I met Jaret to where he is now, he is almost unrecognizable. I remember the day Jaret introduced me to Leila. We ran into each other while out to see the movie, “Venom” It was on this night that I saw a different Jaret. I saw Jaret go from a Mid-20’s something year old with zero responsibilities or cares in the world (Don’t follow him on Facebook); to become an amazing father figure for his new children. The images I was able to capture during their ceremony, were emotionally powerful. I saw the love Jaret was bestowing upon the kids. Leila has helped Jaret become the best version of himself. I love seeing Leila and Jaret’s family continue to grow together! Shortly after the ceremony, they added a dog to the family expanding their family by 1 more. All of the years I knew Jaret before this, that was a dream Jaret always told me. I’ve never seen Jaret this happy in the time I’ve known him. Love seeing a friend have pure happiness and having his life feel whole!
I wish the Brashaws infinite years of happiness! I love both Leila and Jaret for allowing me to tag a long on their day!
Go Buckeyes!
